Different Types of DSC (Digital Signature Certificate / e -Token)

The type of client and the purpose for which the DSC is acquired determines the Class of DSC to be applied. The three types of DSC are

CLASS 1 Certificate :

  • Class 1 certificates are issued to individuals/patron.

  • These certificates confirm that the user’s name and E-mail address should form a clear subject for certifying authorities within the database.

CLASS 2 Certificate :

These certificates will be issued to both private individuals and business personnel. It confirms that the information in the application provided by the subscriber does not conflict with the information in well-recognised consumer database.

CLASS 3 Certificate :

This certificate issued to individuals as well as organizations. And these are used to participate and bid at online tenders and e-auctions. And these shall be issued only on their personnel(physical)appearance before the Certifying Authorities.
